Welcome

Jamie Goldie ~ American Bowmaker

In The Beginning...

Beginning his career in cabinetmaking, Jamie received an A.A.S degree in Cabinetmaking from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA.

During his 10 years of employment at the Robert Treate Hogg cabinetmaking shop in Cream, PA, Jamie became a well-established Master Cabinetmaker, specializing in fine reproduction furniture.

Fascinated by the intricacies of an old family violin, he began to try his hand at making musical instruments.

The Transition to Bowmaking

Having made a handful of violins and mandolins, he found that he was more drawn to the bow. He quickly discovered his gift for recognizing the hand of makers in bows from around the world.

Jamie has gained extensive knowledge and experience by studying the works of the masters, and by working in conjunction with Glenn Bearden, Master Bowmaker and Whitney Osterud, Master Violin Maker and Restorer at David Bromberg Fine Violin.

With his background in woodworking, he has an eye for choosing the highest quality woods available to the industry. His natural ability to "listen what the bow is telling him" results in a finished product with excellent sound, feel and appearance.
